The honest version

We install camera systems. We don't monitor them.

There's a real difference between a smart camera and a monitored security system, and we won't blur the line. We install consumer and prosumer cameras — Ring, Reolink, Hik-Connect, Eufy — that record locally or to cloud and notify you. There's no 24/7 monitoring service, no Garda dispatch, no monthly tariff to MRL.

For monitored alarms, we work alongside PSA-licensed installers and can recommend partners. For everything else — doorbells, driveway cams, garden cams, kid-cams, parking-spot cams — that's our daily work.

No-one camera fits every spot. Hallway, doorbell, driveway, garden — each has different lighting, weather and network needs.

Video Doorbells

Ring, Eufy, Nest Doorbell. Wired or battery. Front-door visitor video on your phone, two-way talk, motion alerts. We handle the chime wiring or install a wireless chime if no doorbell circuit exists.

Reolink Argus, Ring Spotlight, Eufy SoloCam. Battery, solar, or low-voltage wired. Best for driveways, side gates, and gardens within Wi-Fi reach. Free local SD recording or paid cloud.

Reolink RLN, Hikvision, Annke. 4–8 channel Power-over-Ethernet system with local Network Video Recorder. 24/7 recording, no monthly fees, no cloud dependency. Best for whole-house coverage.

What's included

The full install, properly.

Site Survey

Walk your property. Identify priority coverage zones. Check existing power, Wi-Fi strength at proposed positions, and lines of sight. Discuss GDPR-aware positioning (no neighbour overlooking).

Camera & Mount

Camera fixed to wall or soffit with appropriate fixings. Levelled. Angle set during install. Cable entry point sealed and weatherproofed.

Power & Network

Battery, solar, low-voltage wired or PoE. Cable routed via attic, soffit, or external trunking (painted to match).

Network Setup

Camera connected to dedicated IoT VLAN where possible (isolated from your main network). Strong unique password. Two-factor auth on the cloud account.

App Configuration

Mobile app installed on your phone (and partner's, if wanted). Motion zones drawn. Notifications tuned (cars vs people vs animals). Privacy zones masked.

Storage

Local SDNVR HDDCloud (paid) We'll recommend based on your priorities — privacy, retention, cost.

Privacy & GDPR

Cameras with respect.

CCTV at private homes in Ireland is subject to GDPR if any camera captures anywhere beyond your own property. We position cameras carefully and document it.

Privacy zones

We mask any unavoidable overlooking of neighbours' property in the camera firmware. This is permanent in the recording — not just hidden in the app.

Signage

We supply discreet CCTV signage at your boundary as required by GDPR. Plain, professional — not aggressive.

Retention

NVR systems set to overwrite footage after a sensible window (usually 14–30 days). Cloud accounts set to the shortest viable plan — you can extend later.

FAQ

CCTV questions.

Will I get notifications every time a car drives past?

Not if we configure it properly. Motion zones are drawn to exclude the road, and modern cameras can distinguish people from vehicles from animals. We tune notifications during the install so you get useful alerts, not noise.

Can I avoid monthly subscription fees?

Yes. A wired PoE system with a local NVR records to a hard drive in your home — no cloud, no monthly cost. Battery doorbells (Eufy) also store locally to a base station. Cloud is convenient (clips on your phone from anywhere) but it's not required.

Does this work if my Wi-Fi is patchy at the front of the house?

Wi-Fi cameras need a usable signal at the install point — if that's missing, we either add a Wi-Fi access point to extend coverage or recommend a wired PoE camera that doesn't need Wi-Fi at all. We check signal strength during the site survey.

Can the camera see at night?

All cameras we install have IR night vision (black & white at night). Many also have colour night vision with a built-in spotlight that triggers on motion. We'll discuss which fits where — bright spotlights aren't always wanted facing a neighbour's bedroom.

Will it record me coming home with shopping at midnight?

Yes. Motion events are recorded in any case (that's the point), and stored according to the retention you set. You can review or delete clips from the app at any time.

Can I add more cameras later?

Yes — we always spec the system with headroom. A 4-channel NVR can take 4 cameras now; an 8-channel can take 8. Adding a new camera later is usually a half-day visit.
